Frequently Asked Questions

Reverse Osmosis 5-Stage Water Filtration System

Why is there no water coming from the Faucet and/or the R.O. Water Filtration System?

Answer 1:  The system’s Auto Leak Detector may be installed incorrectly. Make sure the main line tubing is inserting into the Line-In on the leak detector. The R.O. System – Out port should be connected to the filtration system via red PE tubing.

Answer 2:  After a leak, the Auto Leak Detector must be re-activated by the replacement of its water-absorbent cell. Please refer to page 12 in the instruction manual for installation steps.

Answer 3:  Make sure all water valves and system valves are turned in the On position.

Why is the water pressure from the Faucet/R.O. Water Filtration System low?

Please note you must pressurize the filtration system before initial use or after filter replacement. Please refer to section Testing the Water  Filtration System section on page 19 or 22 (Ver. 2) within the water filtration system manual.

Please note in that the Boann Post Carbon filter is a vertical unit, water must travel up and down through the filter, in turn slightly reducing water pressure (compared to horizontal Post Carbon filters). In addition, pumping the Water Storage Tank with 2-3 psi of air can serve as a means to develop more water pressure within the system.

How do I replace the filters on the filtration System?

Before filter replacement, you must depressurize the filtration system. First, shut off water flow by turning off the Manual Shut Off Valve. If using the EZ Angle Stop Adapter, simply turn the Cold Water Valve clockwise. Turn the Tank Ball Valve clockwise, located atop of the Water Storage Tank. Lastly, depress the handle on the faucet. Once water stops the depressurizing process is complete. Commence to change any/all filters.

What do I do if I experience leakage from a threaded fitting or collet?

Boann recommends always using Teflon tape when or where needed. Simply wrap 5-6 rotations of Teflon tape around the prospective threading. Applying Teflon on the Tank Ball Valve, for instance, is highly recommended to prevent minor leakage. DO NOT APPLY TEFLON ON THE EZ ANGLE STOP ADAPTER.

If leakage is observed at a tubing connection, make sure the tubing is firmly and securely inserted into the collet. Pushing and pulling the tubing toward and away from the collet will ensure a proper connection.

How do I reactivate the Auto Leak Detector after a system shut down?

Auto Leak Detector water-absorbent cells can be replaced. Pry open the top housing with a flat screwdriver. Detach the blue cell holder and discard the used cotton cell. Replace the cell, cell holder and spring and assemble the Auto Leak Detector housing.

How frequent should I change the filters on my filtration system?

Stages 1, 2 & 3 are the system’s pre-filters and need to be changed every 1.000 gallons or every 6-months. The Stage 4 – Reverse Osmosis filter is rated for 4,000-5,000 gallons of water and is suggested to be replaced every 2 years (Average 3-4 years). The Stage 5 – Post Carbon filter and Stage 6 – Alkaline/Mineral/ORP Inline filter should be changed once a year.

Boann Bathroom and Kitchen Faucets

Why can’t I pull out the faucet head farther on my pull-out faucet?

Should your faucet require the installation of the weight for assembly, make sure the weight is attached at a suitable location on the pull-out hose. To address this matter, pull out the faucet head to a desired length. After this is achieved, attach the weight. This will afford adequate hose length during use and ease tension on the hose and faucet.

Why does my Flor Kitchen faucet come with a hose spring instead of a pull-out hose weight?

Please understand the construction of the Flor faucet underwent a re-design and therefore now comes with a hose spring, which possesses the same functionality as a hose weight. Irrespective of what’s observed in the manual, the spring acts as a mechanism to retract the faucet.

Why is there low water pressure or no water coming out my faucet?

Regardless of make and model, Kitchen and Bathroom faucets sometime create unwanted results. Invariably when a faucet fails to produce water the faucet cartridge valve is not properly functioning. Replacement of the valve cartridge usually rectifies the subject problem.

If low water pressure is observed, check the water valves, hoses, aerator and integrity of the faucet cartridge valve. If necessary, contact Boann Support for further assistance.
